The FilmPod audience app looks and feels familiar, but it's fundamentally different.
To the filmmaker, the FilmPod is a tool to reach, track and market direct to the audience.
The FilmPod audience experience will always be designed to be familiar, so they are never required to do things out of the ordinary from other standard streaming apps. But, as for the filmmaker, the FilmPod gives the audience unparalleled freedom. And it also rewards them for their views and other activities. Finally, it permits them to interact with the filmmaker and the film cast or creators (where the filmmaker permits)
For the audience - think of the FilmPod like a streaming app. In some ways, it is a lot like most streaming apps, except that it provides them incentives to see & share your film, and it allows them freedom to find it and go to their favorite platform to view it (if that isn't the FilmPod app). To you, it is so much more.
Like most streaming apps, the FilmPod will list titles in a catalog by genre, with new releases, popular, etc., and will use the viewer's history and stated preferences to recommend particular films and series. It will allow audience ratings and "to watch" lists.
But the FilmPod app is unlike other streaming apps. It reports views directly to the filmmaker. It allows the filmmaker to analyze the viewing habits of her particular audience. It allows the filmmaker to market direct to those viewers and to other FilmPod viewers to share the same audience characteristics. It allows the filmmaker to invite audience engagement through comments, direct fan (e)mail, contact with selected cast or crew, and more.
In addition, the FilmPod app itself will offer incentives for audience to recommend & share their favorite titles within the app and without. It will reward them for creating word-of-mouth about their favorite movies. It will interface with a merchandising platform so that the filmmaker can sell their swag without sending the audience off-site.
All while monetizing the views automatically and paying the filmmaker much more per view than any major distribution platform. And all while being non-exclusive - because it's the filmmaker who is the streamer.
